Metro Deaf School - Minnesota North Star Academy provides a bilingual and interdisciplinary curriculum for deaf and hard-of-hearing Pre-K - 12 students who communicate and learn using American Sign Language (ASL) and English.
Our Values
- Sharing ideas. At MDS-MNSA student and parent ideas are encouraged. Parents are an integral part in making our school successful.
- Connections to family and community. The community becomes the classroom, with students learning from the rich urban environment and the wide variety of spaces, places, people, ideas and visions that inhabit it. MDS-MNSA students commute from home, and with that connection, they are able to develop strong ties with both family and community.
- Communication. MDS-MNSA students learn the communication skills necessary to create a challenging, disciplined and caring community, where every student matters and every student strives to achieve.
